Citizens' Water Academy

About the Citizens’ Water Academy

The Catawba-Wateree Water Management Group offers the Citizens’ Water Academy each year. Our group launched the Citizens' Water Academy to prepare current and aspiring leaders to make informed decisions about critical water resources and related infrastructure. The goal of the Academy is to educate environmental stewards who understand the importance of planning for a safe and sustainable water future and will advocate for protecting our shared water supply in their communities.

The Catawba River is a powerful, yet fragile, natural resource that supports and connects our communities. The primary water source for nearly two million people, our river supports a thriving economy and is a catalyst for growth and development throughout the region.
