Citizens' Water Academy
The Catawba-Wateree Water Management Group is excited to host the Citizens’ Water Academy for its sixth year in 2024. Our group has been proudly offering the Citizens’ Water Academy to prepare current and aspiring leaders for several years. The Academy's mission remains unwavering: to equip individuals with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions regarding critical water resources and related infrastructure. Our goal is to cultivate environmental stewards who grasp the significance of planning for a secure and sustainable water future and who will passionately advocate for safeguarding our shared water supply within their respective communities.
The Catawba River, a powerful yet delicate natural resource, plays a vital role in connecting and sustaining our communities. Serving as the primary water source for nearly two million people, our river bolsters a thriving economy and serves as a catalyst for regional growth and development.
